International Christmas celebration with the LWB

For more than 60 children from the east of Leipzig Santa Claus came already on the 3rd Advent. The association Internationale Frauen e.V. had invited the boys and girls from the neighbourhood to celebrate. The celebration was made possible by the LWB, which among other things financed the small gifts for the children. Interesting: All children had a "Wish to Santa Claus" free beforehand. This made it possible to choose exactly the right gift for each individual. The lovingly wrapped presents included balls, stuffed animals and building blocks.  "This was a very special day for the children", said association director Dr. Anke Kästner. Many of the little guests - ten nationalities were represented in total - are not familiar with the Christmas tradition and the associated celebrations and gifts.

For more than ten years, the charitable association has been committed to promoting dialogue and encounters between women and their families, supporting the integration of migrants and refugees, and promoting good coexistence in the neighbourhood.  The association's staff and volunteers in turn help the LWB to overcome language barriers with its tenants, among other things. The LWB supports the International Women's Association by providing the association with rooms free of cold rent in the middle of an LWB housing complex not far from Eisenbahnstraße and also by promoting individual projects for good neighborly coexistence.
