LWB: Precautions against the spread of coronavirus - Support for tenants in need

The LWB has responded to the continuing spread of the corona virus with a series of precautionary measures. To protect customers and staff, the LWB headquarters, service kiosks and central rental office were closed to the public. Customers and interested parties can reach the LWB by telephone, via the LWB App and by e-mail through the known contacts. For emergencies and accidents, the LWB Service Team continues to be available and on duty around the clock. The prerequisite is that there is no internal emergency.

For tenants who are proven to be experiencing financial hardship and rent payment problems due to current developments, support from government agencies is expected. In addition, the LWB will find individual solutions. The measures introduced to reduce the risk of infection with the corona virus must not lead to the loss of the apartment.

In the event of difficulties in paying rent, it is essential that those affected contact their LWB tenant adviser in writing by e-mail or post. The central e-mail address kontakt@lwb.de can also be used if the full name and address are given. At the same time, tenants should also consider applying for state assistance, such as housing benefit, in good time.

Meanwhile, neighborhood assistance has been organized in the LWB housing estates for days. Tenant advisors report on a wide range of activities and support services for older residents or neighbors who are particularly at risk because of their weakened immune systems.
